Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing ok and are keeping warm during what's now been known as one of the coldest Winters Britain has seen in 30 years.
I woke up this morning and did not want to get up and this time it wasn't because it was the usual pain of 6AM alarm clocks. No this time it was because it was freezing. My bedroom is in the loft and for some reason the coldest in the house. Heat rises? Well apparently so does the cold. So there I was after half an hour of trying to change into my work clothes without my skin touching the air (try it, it builds willpower), when I remembered something. A really random thought and that was "I have the perfect boots to go with this outfit". Now this may seem a bit unlike me but truth be told, i love shoes. Boots in particular and this pair that i remembered were a long lost forgotten pair which I hadn't worn in a year. So naturally I had to show the neglected boots some love. And it matched my outfit perfectly.
The boots have a point. You see when I put them together with my outfit, I know it looked good. And i'm not being narcissistic, I'm just saying the outfit looked fashionable but something that I made my own so i looked good and because of that, I felt good. The cold and early morning still bothered me but not as much and I walked into work with a smile on my face. I believe that a person should be themselves and the way to be comfortable with that is by feeling good about yourself and sometimes when everything else is crappy the only way to feel good is to look good. Now I am in no way saying conform to everyone else's idea of looking good. Hell No! What I am saying is if you're comfortable in it, if you are happy with it then wear it and make it your own. And I am also not saying materialism is the only way to happiness. What I am saying is be who you are, wear what makes you feel amazing and like yourself. Others may not like it but who cares? You look good and you feel good and that's all that matters.
I just had to share this little truth of my life. My addiction to boots has a purpose. Plus this was a perfect excuse for me to buy another gorgeous pair of brown faux shearling cuff lace up boots, mid heel :) So there you have it, you know a little bit more about me and also how when the going gets tough, strut your stuff.
